Welcome to Kim Lee Chinese Shar-Pei. 

The history of Kim Lee Chinese Shar-Pei goes back to my days as a pre-teen in a new community.  My family wanted me to become involved in an activity that would teach as well as build self-esteem.    In January 1982, as I was looking through the Sunday newspaper, I saw a photo of a strange looking dog.  It was identified as a Chinese Shar-Pei, a breed that had just recently been brought back from the verge of extinction.

Through determination and luck I found out about 2 breeders in California.  I wrote to them and heard from both.  One just sent some printed material, the other started a correspondence with me. 

Over the course of several months I learned about the breed and my parents decided that I could buy a show dog.  He (CH. Boawnchein's Kims Special) flew into Philadelphia Airport and caused a sensation.  I learned how to show the dog, soon thereafter bought another one and Kim Lee Chinese Shar-Pei was on its way.

Out of our first breeding we produced a female (CH. Kim Lee Black Bear Dancer) who became the first female Champion in Pennsylvania.
